Focus with Gem

I forget how much I actually enjoy going out with my camera. So often I’ll be out on a walk with my partner and think ‘Eurgh, I should have brought my camera’. There will be a nice view or an interesting building and I’ll really wish I could photograph it.

On a recent walk in my town I did bring it. It was a beautiful blue sky day and I think the pictures I’ve taken really showcase Weston Super Mare as a beautiful place, despite the brown sea water! If you know, you know. I’m not originally from Weston, I’m actually Scottish and moved down to Bristol back in 2012. In early 2020 I met my partner and he lived in WSM with his daughters. By the start of 2021 I had all but moved in with him and had given up my flat by April.

I’m still getting used to my new town and there’s something quite special about being able to capture some of it’s beauty to really help me appreciate where I now live.
